Post doctoral position: IAEE, Courbevoie, France
Post doctoral position : Ionosphere and its impact on navigation systems
Job description:
One of the main threats to Global Navigation Satellites System (GNSS), such as GPS and Galileo is the variable propagation conditions encountered by the satellites signals as they pass through the Earth’s upper atmosphere (the ionosphere). Disturbances in the ionosphere may lead to phenomena such as scintillation, characterised by rapid signal fluctuations that impact positioning accuracy.
The candidate will work in collaboration with European Teams TRANSMIT to elaborate a Software prototype aiming to integrate (and develop) models mostly for satellite navigation purposes taking ionospheric threats into account.
Position requirements:
- Education : Engineer or PhD (less than 5 years experience)
- Preferred background : Physics, Data Processing, Software development
- Working language : English (French knowledge will be appreciated)
- Marie Curie project specific restrictions : the candidate should not have been living in France for more than 12 months in the last 3 years
Contract duration : 2 years
Start : 1st june 2012
